Light Control Module was created by stan73
Dear all,
thanks for everyone for sharing info about our beloved cars.
My USA 560SL, 1987 has also problem with LKG.
Before conversation of headlights the LKG lamp gave warn, after starting light switch position 1(parking lamps, side marker lamps, taillamps, license plate lamps), but didn't check bulbs.
After changing headlight , changed all bulbs (headlights and all bulbs in taillights) with new one.
Unfortunately the same error with LKG lamp.
I have to try unplug inputs in Stecker X1, before searching problems with cables or changing LKG.
Would you give me clue which inputs are related to USA headlight, after changing they missing and most probably give the warn ?
Best Regards, Stan

Hi Stan,
I guess you kept back sidemarkers and 3rd braking light. But when swapping front lights you removed front sidemarkers. LKG will miss them and make an alarm. Also in Hi beam you might face an issue as Hi Beam on 560 SL USA uses 2 supervised light bulbs. There is also a tricky issue with "Standlicht". On 560 SL it is in orange indicator compartment (gr and gr-bl). These must be connected to "Standlicht" of European lights. You find more details in sternzeit-107.de/de/slpedia/werkstatt-gr...12-beleuchtung-us-eu and I promise I will also move my old article on jetronic.org from 2016 here.
Depending on your new configuration your LKG has to be modified to eliminate alarms for lights no longer present. Or you install blind power resistors instead of missing light bulbs.

Hi , thanks for quick answer. I swapped the stecker for headlights according attached pictures(instead outer high beam put braun cable for masse).
All my lights are working fine except LKG error.
I could't undetstand tricky about "Standlicht". Should I connect cable from blind pin to Standlicht pin ?
I kept rear side markers and third brake light.
As I understood LKG is searching for front side markers and outer Hi beam lamp. (side marker cable is attached to blind pin and outer Hi beam cable is free in my case)
So, solution is change LKG with one from EU car, put resistors instead missing lamps or send the LKG to you for conversation ?
BR

Hi Stan,
European SL light control module has different pinout. If you use the one from W124 / W126 it assumes different power for back light as well and it cannot handle double front lights (which you do not have). European LKG modules for R107 are very hard to find.
So yes you can use blind resistors to simulate load or I will make a convers(at)ion with your LKG saying "Don't listen to sidemarkers and ... !".
Standlicht is different than sidemarkers. Cables gr and gr-bl are connected to smaller power orange light below bumper. 21W is signals and 5W is Standlicht there. It is called 58 L and 58 R in Germany and comes from pin 58 on light switch.
The rest of the 2 sidemarkers front wt-gn and wt-gn-rd (and back) are derived from interior light pin K on light switch. When changing to EU headlights people often use wt-gn and wt-gn-rd as Standlicht. But that is wrong. It must be gr and gr-bk that previously went to yellow light below bumper. That is why I document on LKGs what lines are disconnected or which lines' alarms are disabled. and that is why this conversion has to be done according to new headlight and 3rd brake light setup.
