Wo wir wieder dabei wären, dass ich keine Proletendose draus machen will. Daher auch die Anlage von Sobkowiak, die wissen, was sie machen.

Du wirst aber keinen AMI-V8 Sound erhalten. Das haben schon viele erhofft und nicht erreicht. Bisschen kerniger wirds wohl werden, aber kein bollern.
Mittlerweile finde ich das samtene Säuseln bis fauchen aber sehr angenehm. Was anderes passt nicht zum SL

OMG nein das will ich auch gar nicht, das würde ja alleine schon von der Zündfolge her nicht hinhauen und ein deutscher V8 darf gerne ein deutscher V8 bleiben. Ich möche einfach nur etwas mehr Klang, jetzt hört man den Motor ja nur relativ leise wenn man ihm voll reinsteigt und sonst gar nicht. Das soll sich durch den durchgehenden doppelflutigen Strang mit einem Rohrduchmesser von 48,3 mm unter Wegfall der Katalysatoren etwas verbessern und das wirds definitiv auch. Damit bin ich dann schon glücklich. :-)

Übrigens die Hosenrohre mit dem Katalysator werde ich zur Sicherheit aufbewahren, sollten die Gesetze bei uns in Österreich doch mal verschärft werden. Mitteltopf und Endtopf werde ich verkaufen, die gibts ja ohne Probleme jederzeit neu zu kaufen.

So liebe Leute, hier mal ein Update. Also die Anlage von Sobkowiak ist letzte Woche angekommen und ich habe sie am Wochenende verbaut.

Fazit: Die Qualität und Passgenauigkeit sind sensationell! Bessere Preis-Leistung geht nicht für eine Edelstahl-Anlage!

Hab zwar nur einen 280 SL - doch mit der SS -Anlage von Sobkowiak (erstklassik verarbeitet) klingt er genial > fast wie ein 8 Zylinder.

BTW: habe von Sobkowiak schon vor über 15 Jahren SS - Anlagen auch für meine BMW's (6-Zyl.) gekauft > alles wirklich prima, bis heute.

Der Klang ist einfach genial! Durch den Durchmesser von 48,3 mm im unteren Drehzahlbereich schöner Bass, und der kickdown zaubert einem ein Lächeln ins Gesicht! 😁 Soundfile gibt's am Wochenende! Stay tuned! 😜

Ja Andi , die Anlagen sind gut habe bei mir auch die Anlage verbaut , bei meinem ollen 350er Europa vorher war dort eine Anlage mit Kat verbaut gewesen (nachgerüstet), seit dem ein ganz anderes Auto zieht besser durch top klang und einen schönen Motorlauf , im alten 350er Europa halte ich von einer Kat Anlage gar nichts.

Ja Andi , jetzt röhrt der alte Hirsch endlich wieder ein wenig so muss es sein , mein oller 350er hört sich jetzt auch wie ein oller Benz V8 an , aber die Krönung im Motorraum ist für mich der 450er Europa ohne Kat , wenn ich den laufen höre einfach nur spitze ( für mich pers . der beste Motor für den r107, w116 ,107 slc.

Hier mal ein kleiner Soundcheck, da kommt der Klang nur leider nicht mal ansatzweise so gut rüber, wie er ist (am Wochendend gibts ein Drive-by-Video):

Keine Sorge, die Hydrostößel kommen jetzt dann dran, sobald mein Ventilhebeldrücker da ist. Ist aber bei Weitem nicht so schlimm, wie in der Aufnahme, Handymikofone nehmen halt vor allem die Höhen verstärkt auf.

Hi, wie kommst du drauf? Meine beiden Oldtimer-Mechaniker haben sich den Wagen beide angeschaut, auch durch den Öldeckel einen Blick auf die Nockenwelle geworden und waren sich beide unabhängig voneinander sicher, dass es einer der Hydrostößel am Zylinder 7 ist. Waren beide mit dem Stetoskop dran.

wenn sie den Zylinder 7 durch den Öl Deckel sehen, na denn viel Erfolg, ich habe nur mit und von dem 560 er Ahnung.
Aber vielleicht bleibt es ja bei einem Hydro und die Jungs haben recht..
Berichte mal, wenn es soweit ist.

Das hoffe ich auch! Ansonsten bleibt "nur" noch eine eingelaufene Nockenwelle übrig. Die müsste ich dann aber aufbereiten lassen, denn für den US 380er sind sie nicht mehr lieferbar. Also jetzt mal die Hydros und ansonsten Kipphebel und Nockenwellen.

Hallo, Andi lass dich nicht verrückt machen ,ich sehe das genauso wie du es gibt dazu auch ein Video bei Youtube von einem 380se, wenn die Deckel runter sind finden die schon den Übeltäter .

Also da ist meiner noch heilig dagegen! Bei meinem beginnt das Klackern eigentlich erst so richtig, wenn er warm ist und das Öl seine maximale Viskosität errreicht hat.

Ich schraube nach dem Motto: Vom Besten ausgehen, mit dem Schlimmsten rechnen! ;-)
