280 AMG

Did AMG ever convert any 280SLs or SLCs??
Any info appreciated.

Not to my knowledge, as far as I know there were only V8 powerded AMG versions. that is not to say that you couldnt put the spoilers or other AMG parts on your SL/SLC.

Where are you located?

Napa Valley, California. This question came up on another (US) forum.

There are a few 280SL/280SLC with the AMG improved M110 (camshaft, vents). The engine has roundabout 220 PS and was originally modified for the 280E (W123) which started at London-Sidney and some other long distance rallyes. BUT: The 280 SL(C) was never sold from and as AMG!

There are some AMG 280 SL which were only optical modified Versions.

AMG offered three kits for the M110-engine. The original engine had 185 DIN-HP (most of the time, for a certain time the engine power was reduced), AMG-stage 1 brought 200 HP, stage 2 215 HP and stage 3 even up to 230 HP. As far as I know only stage 3 came together with a complete engine makeover. But I dont know what they did in special. Unfortunately I dont have any AMG literature, I only read it in a book.
