hätte ich doch fast vergessen,
gibt es eine Möglichkeit im WEB eine VIN WDB................. einzugeben um dann über das Fahrzeug Basisinformationen zu erfahren?

Auch nicht wenn ich es richtigerweise mit WDB vorne eingebe.
Irgendwas stimmt damit nicht, vielleicht ein Zahlendreher drin.

Wie fast alles zum 107er, ist auf dieser Seite auch die Systhematik der Fahrgestellnummer erklärt.

Buchstaben sind nicht vorgesehen...

A-E = Sindelfingen,

wurden die Buchstaben nicht erst mit der Eröffnung des Werks in Bremen eingeführt? ab Bj. ca. 1983/1984 ?

Hallo Jean & Thomas,
vielen Dank für Eure Hilfe, da wäre ich nie drauf gekommen - bin ja auch Blond .

Aber trotz Eurer Hilfe,
ich habe mir einige 450SL Bj 72 - 78 wegen H-Kennzeichen und einige 560SL Bj 84 - 88 in Ebay angesehen. Bei einigen war die VIN vom Verkäufer in der Beschreibung eingegeben, einige SLs hatten Fotos vo dem kleinen Typenschild mit Baujahr/Monat und der VIN drauf, aber die meisten davon wurden auf der Russischen Seite nicht gefunden - TROTZ RICHTIGER EINGABE. Kann es sein dass die Datenbank nicht komplett ist oder nicht alle US Fahrzeuge hat?

Gibt es da eine offizielle Deutsche MB Seite oder ähnliches zur VIN/FIN Abfrage??

die US-SLs sind anders verschlüsselt als die europäischen SLs. Deshalb bringt die Suche über das oben genannte Portal keine Ergebnisse.

das mag für Dich so sein,
ich kann die VIN= Vehicle Identifikation Number
in eine FIN Fahrzeug Identifikations Nummer umschlüsseln.

@Eva
Auf der Russenseite geht die Datenbank nur bis 1984/85 zurück
frühere Baujahre sind nicht hinterlegt.

Hallo Jean,
dass DU und andere Insider die VIN in eine FIN umwandeln können, ist mir klar. Ich habe ja auch ganz bewußt geschrieben, dass die Suche im OBEN GENANNTEN Portal keine Ergebnisse bringt.

Außerdem geht das R.-Portal meines Wissens nicht bis 84/85 sondern bis Ende der 70er-Jahre zurück. Meine Autos (US Bj.1981 mit FIN, CH Bj.1982) konnte ich jedenfalls dort problemlos entschlüsseln.
