Looking for AMG/Sebring 107 exhaust system was created by 48hp
Hello, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Henric and I live in Los Angeles, California and I am a proud owner of a 1982 500sl AMG. I was hoping to find help here despite my lack of German language.

I currently searching for the very hard to find AMG/Sebring exhaust system. I realize these are very hard to come by but thought Id ask the locals. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hello Henric,

you look for a special exhaustsystem from AMG? I didnt remember, what system was possible to buy.... if it was direct from the manufactor Sebring or a special AMG-part?

for what parts you are looking for? you have some details, maybe pics?

Yes AMG developed an exhaust system for the 107 vehicles that was manufactured by Sebring. I will post photos in a few days. Any assistance in locating this exhaust would be appreciated. I would be content finding the just the muffler alone. Thanks you!

look here, there is an aftermarket muffler for the 500SL in AMG-style.

maybe an option to the original.

Hi,

this exhaust has no catalytic converter and by the way, I´m not sure, if this pipe fit´s under the model 107. What is it, you´re looking for? Performance, endurance or AMG as a brand? In respect of performance and liability we have better solutions today, including lambda control and catalytic converters. For further info just drop me a line.

Hello Dietmar, Thank you for your reply. I am familiar with the numerous exhaust alternatives available today. The goal is to locate a period correct AMG muffler and build the remaining exhaust compliant to California Smog regulations. The AMG muffler is just a nice touch in an effort to bring back my SL as delivered by AMG in 1982.

Henric,

As we dont seem to have enough expertise here for 70s or 80s AMG exhaust systems - why dont you try to contact the guys at AMG-Classics . The link also shows an AMG exhaust system at a 1981 500SLC.

And I think its worth trying to get in direct contact with the manufacturer: AMG

Hello Florian,

Thank you for the link and the suggestions. Believe me, I have my "feelers" out all over the globe including AMG Classics website. I have also attempted to contact AMG/MB directly for months and unfortunately they have never officially responded, not once.

So I must rely on my fellow enthusiasts for their assistance, to keep an ear out and an eye open. Thank you for your patience in seeing this topic reintroduced time and time again. One will surface, its just a matter of time.
