installing the height-adjustable seats was created by Peter01
I'm installing the height-adjustable seats on my 560SL.
What's the procedure?
I thought:
1. First, install the height-adjustable mechanism with spring, etc., in the car.
2. Install the rails on the seats and slide the seats with the rails into the height-adjustable mechanism. 3. Install the vertical guides at the back and tighten the screws at the front. Is this correct? Can this work?

Hello Peter,
basically yes!
To slide the seat into the guides, the seat should be in the backmost position (or the rails in the foremost position). Sliding the seat into the rails can be a bit tricky. Then the 2 screws in the front should be installed first. Then move the seat to the foremost position and install the rear vertical guides. As far as I know the guides come with shims in varying numbers to allow the seat to move freely.
Cheers,
Lutz

Thanks Lutz,
Very helpful.
I did also check chatGPT, totally different answer, which looked for me impossible, this is much more logic, but good to know this is the way to go.
